Magic Drop uses a "Jailed Bot" security model. The bot can only see the
specific folder you share with it. It has no access to the rest of your Google Drive. You
can evict the bot and kill the connection instantly by removing its access in your
Google Drive settings at any time.
You can store bank statement passwords in your Security Vault (under Magic Drop
Settings).
Once saved, the app will automatically "auto-decrypt" files during sync. For manual uploads,
the app will check the vault first before asking you for a password.
Yes. Passwords in the vault are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
They are only decrypted in-memory during file processing and are never stored in plain text
or shared with anyone (including family members).
The trends use a 5+1 logic: it shows your last 5 completed pay cycles plus your
current cycle. This allows you to compare your real-time performance against your recent
historical average.
This is our community intelligence engine. When you categorize a common store, the app
remembers it for everyone. We only store the Merchant Name and
Category—no personal data, amounts, or dates ever leave your private database.
If the AI or the Global Cache gets a category wrong, you can fix it manually. When you do,
you can check "Update all future transactions" to create a
User Bulk Override. This ensures your personal preference takes priority
over the Global Cache for that merchant permanently.
